To me, what's ironic is that what we're seineg is exactly what BCS supports warn would happen if there were playoffs: "the regular season wouldn't be meaningful." (These people, I assume, have never seen a rivalry game. The Bucket would be no less meaningful if there were a I-A playoff, and not just because in most seasons, neither IU nor Purdue would make the cut, even for a 24-team field.) What's meaningful about the Meineke Different City Every Year Bowl, or 12 bowl games in January, or 14 teams with 6 wins in bowl games? (And no, those aren't coming from the Sun Belt or the MAC. Only 1 of the 6-6 and 6-7 teams is from a non-AQ conference: Marshall.) The BCS people don't want to share their loot with others. They fear, quite rightly, that an NCAA tournament would dwarf the "excitement" they carefully orchestrate for us. So what do we get in return? The NIT.

Like your tprhoy picks but, if Little Joe wins the Rocket, then Big Joe has to win the Hart, especially with Marleau in there to toss in his 30 40 goals. Toss in Big Joe's 12 goals and a few assists to Boyle and Burns, as well as a few more on the PP to Couture all this figures to 12-95-107, which just might be enough the tough part will be Joe getting to 12 goals!

Can the Caps and rrtropees please stop saying games are sold out? It’s virtually meaningless in this day and age when nearly 10% of all tickets are in the hands of scalpers and other resellers who attempt to sell them for a profit. Heck, there are more than 1000 seats available for sale for Game 2 on Stubhub alone, many at or near and even below face value. This situation exists not only with the Caps, but in other sports, too. “Sold out” does not mean what it meant 10 years ago.
